Frequently asked questions

How much space does a notary office need?

A practice with one notary and two clerks usually needs 60 to 70 sq m to fit a signing room, archives and reception. The 66 sq m B3 units on floors 1 to 3, or E4-B1 and E4-B2 on the top floor with terraces, are a good match. Combining adjacent units can also be studied.

How should the archive room be planned?

You can size a closed archive room freely. Fire protection, ventilation and shelving loads should be validated with your architect. We share the unit plans to support that work. Placing it away from reception also keeps original deeds out of sight of visitors.

Are there rules for opening a notary office?

Yes, setting up or moving a notary office follows the profession’s own rules in Morocco. Laya Office sells fit-out-ready space without prejudging those steps, which should be checked with the national chamber of notaries and your architect. We are happy to supply any documents your application requires.

Is it easy for clients to get there?

The building is on Route d’El Jadida with a double frontage on two 12-metre roads. Clients enter through the lobby and take one of two lifts, which helps at signings involving elderly family members. Owners also have their own basement parking for the notary and staff.

How much does a unit cost?

Pricing depends on size, floor and any terrace. We send the price list on request, with current availability of the larger units suited to a notary office. If you are thinking of combining two neighbouring units, mention it in your request so we can check which combinations are possible.
